DNS hijacking is often an annoying tactic undertaken by ISPs to generate ad revenue. This little script simply redirects you back to google whenever it detects you are being taken to UPC's "navigation" page. There are ways around this but they can be complex and require you to do anything from set up locations on your laptop to changing your router DNS settings. This script has a two step installation process:
- Firefox users can install greasemonkey or Google Chrome users can skip to the next step.(Or any other way you prefer to go about running greasemonkey scripts in your browser)
- Install upc redirect 1.1
- Done.
Features:
- Completely unobtrusive. No settings, no network to network switching, almost no UI, just the greasemonkey interface. Install and forget about it.
- Works on any network you're on
- Tries to save what you typed into the address bar and submit it to google.
Update: I'm no longer a UPC customer so please contact me if the plugin stops working for whatever reason.
